Kingston University

A Top Modern University

Kingston is London's top ranking new university, according to the Guardian (The Guardian's university league tables, May 2006). The University has roots going back over 100 years, the Kingston Technical Institute opens in 1899, offering courses ranging from Chemistry, Electric Wiring and Building Construction to Nursing, Dressmaking and Clay Modelling. Kingston Polytechnic becomes Kingston University in 1992.

Location
The University is based in Kingston upon Thames, a historic part of London just a short distance by train (25 minutes) from the city’s busy centre. Our students benefit from both being close to London and living in a friendly environment.

The University has 21,300 students in total, with 3,212 non-UK students. Many courses at Kingston University are vocational. This means that they:
- are specifically designed to prepare you for your chosen career
- offer you the chance to gain valuable work experience in industry or commerce

They often also carry professional accreditation from organisations such as:
Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)
Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD)
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
The British Psychological Society (BPS)
