The city of York is a beautiful medieval town with a famous racecourse. It is about one hour from the city of Manchester to which there is a regular train service. The college with its newly opened £60 million campus offering state of the art facilities is on the edge of the city.
- Approximately 1,100 students sat AS and A2 exams this last summer at York College. Out of the 445 learners that studied A levels the overall pass rate was 97.2%, which is above the national average for the twelfth consecutive year. A staggering 47% of the grades were awarded at A or B.
In 2008 UK government school inspectors commented on the achievements of the students indicating that they 'develop good practical skills and produce work to a high standard. Attendance and punctuality are good and learners are courteous and well behaved.
- The York International Foundation Programme - Accredited by the University of York, is for overseas students wishing to gain entry to York university or other similar institutions in the UK. Duration: one year full-time. Pathways include Science Social Science and Business and Management. Unusually for a foundation course, one of its most successful students went to Oxford.
