Middlesex University


Facts and Figures

Middlesex is a well established and thriving university that is both British based and internationally facing. The more established campuses are located in north London but the University has newer campuses in both Dubai (opened in 2005) and Mauritius (opened in 2010). 

Middlesex currently teaches 35,500 students, and about 30 per cent of these are international students. 22,000 study on Middlesex's London campuses and 20 per cent of these students are from overseas. A further 5,000 study on programmes validated by Middlesex but provided by the University's partners in the UK. And there are 8,500 Middlesex students studying overseas of which 1,200 are based on Middlesex's Dubai campus and 7.300 study on programmes validated by Middlesex but provided by the University's partners overseas.

Academic Achievements

Quality Assurance Agency. The Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) visited Middlesex in 2009. Its resulting report said auditors had confidence in the University's current and likely future management of its academic standards and of the learning opportunities available to students.

Research Assessment Exercise. The 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) contained some excellent results for research at Middlesex University. Analysis of the different rankings produced by various publications placed Middlesex at number 10 among post-1992 universities.

Queen's Anniversary Prizes. 96 was the year that Middlesex was awarded the first of three Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education, for its innovative provision of Work Based Learning.

Skillset Media Academy. In 2007 Middlesex was awarded Skillset Media Academy status by the Government Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills.

Middlesex University is also:
